Fridays are our Library day. Please make sure library books travel back and forth from home to school each night. Each day your child will have independent reading time to be able to enjoy their selections.
All students must wear appropriate tennis shoes on PE days. If possible, have them keep a pair in their backpack if they plan on wearing outfit specific shoes. Also, an extra outfit is always a good idea in case of spills or muddy playgrounds!

Please send a pair of headphones in a Ziploc baggie labeled with your student's name.  These will be stored in the
classroom for use at anytime.

I hope you all are doing well! I miss you but hope you are staying healthy!
Tomball ISD will offer a free curbside meal service for all Tomball ISD students from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17 or Wednesday, March 18 at Tomball High School’s front entrance. To limit exposure risk, we will provide meals for the week and families are asked to come one of the two days
for their meals.
*Please be ready to provide your student’s ID# upon pick-up. If you do not know your student’s ID#, we will assist you. If school closure continues, we will provide this repeated service on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24.

Practice Opportunities at Home!

I am just reposting the links that I posted in previous news blasts!
ReadWorks is a great site for reading comprehension and vocabulary. You can easily create a free account
Math-Aids is a great way to generate worksheets to practice different skills!

Week of 11/4

Just a reminder that students have a Social Studies test on Monday (11/4), and study guides went home Friday. There is also a Math text on Tuesday, and I just posted the review.

Noetic Learning Math Contest

I just sent home a flyer to students that showed interest in the Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC). The form needs to be filled out and returned by Friday, October 25, 2019!

Spelling Bee!

We are sending home a letter about the spelling bee. All students are invited to participate. Interested students need to complete the bottom portion of the letter and return to their homeroom teacher.

Basic Facts Practice

Here is some great math facts practice! The later pages are for multiplication & division, which we will get into later. We will start doing timed math facts quizzes so practicing those addition and subtraction facts will help!
Week 5 September 16 - 20 Addition and Subtraction: Doubles/Halves
Week 6 September 23 - 27 Addition and Subtraction: With 10
Week 7 September 30- Oct 4  Addition and Subtraction: Doubles/Halves/With 10
Week 8 October 7-11 Addition and Subtraction: Using Doubles/ 0, 1, 2

Just some reminders regarding birthday celebrations:
Students are not allowed to pass out invitations to select students during the school day. Invitations may be passed out to the class as a whole (at the end of the day), otherwise it is up to parents to contact parents outside of school. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Celebratory food - We have a handful of friends who have food allergies, so the best advice I can give on bringing class goodies in would be to bring non-food treats (pencils, erasers, party favor) for the class.

Reminder About Snacks & Drinks

Your child may bring
  • Sport-top water bottle (water ONLY please)
  • Two small, healthy snacks (ex. goldfish, pretzels, cheese crackers, etc.)
    • Please refrain from sending cookies, honey buns, etc.
* We do have nut allergies in our classroom
