What is New

Hello Parents

Our 3rd and 4th grade students will take the STAAR Math test on Monday May 14th and the STAAR Reading test on Tuesday May 15th.  Our students have been working hard all year and we are confident they will do great!

A few reminders for testing days…

-No backpacks. Please leave backpacks at home.  Students will not need their backpack on test days.

-No cell phones or smart watches.  Please do not send cell phones or smart watches to school with your student on test day.  If your student needs to have a cell phone, it must be turned off and will be held, by the teacher, until the end of the day.

-Please send a sack lunch with your student or they may purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria on testing days.

-Please be sure your student gets a good night’s sleep, eats breakfast, and arrives to school ON TIME.  Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria on testing days.

Thank you for your support.  We look forward to 2 great days of testing where we expect that our 3rd and 4th grade students will shine and show what they know with great success!

Weekly Update for 4/30-5/4

Dear Parents,

I can’t believe that May is right around the corner - gosh this school year has flown by! Here is what is happening next week.

ELA

A big thank you for supporting our weekly Reading HW- one more week. Due date is Thursday 5/3. Spelling lesson this week is lesson 28 with our test on Friday 5/4. In class we are continuing our reading spiral of all skill for our upcoming STAAR test.

Math

This past Friday I sent home our first of two study packets. The packet will be sent home on Friday and due the next Friday. These packets are a spiral review of all the math skills we have learned this year. The first packet is due this Friday May 4th. In class we will be starting our STAAR review stations. The kids have really enjoyed getting to work with different teachers these past few weeks and we will continue this with a slight twist for the next two weeks.

Science

We will be comparing various animal life cycles this week - such as the ladybug, frog, and butterfly.

Ms. Moore and I want to give a  big shout out to our students that participated in the Robotics and Fine Arts Festival this weekend. We are so proud of our students!!!

Thank you to those who came out last Wednesday to Spring Creek Barbeque. Ms. Moore and I enjoyed chatting with everyone as we serve bread. This week she and I will be serving at the Spirit Night at McDonald’s on Tuesday May 1.

Have a great week,
