Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome Parents!

My name is Mrs. Stephanie Howard and I am delighted to be your child's Kindergarten teacher!

I want you to feel confident in knowing that your child is with me for most of their day. I believe in making learning fun, meaningful and memorable.  It is my goal to motivate, challenge and inspire each child that comes into my classroom.

I graduated from the University of Houston in 2002 and began my teaching career in Aldine ISD, where I taught First Grade for 5 years. We moved out here to Tomball to start our family and I joined the Canyon Pointe family in 2008.  This will be my 10th year teaching Kindergarten.  I love kindergarten! It is a unique year with many new experiences...losing a first tooth, learning to tie shoes, learning to read and write and making new friends.

My husband, Casey and I live in Canyon Gates with our 2 beautiful daughters. Sarah is 13 and Samantha is 8. I love spending time with my family and walking our yellow lab, Susie.

I look forward to an amazing year with you and your child.
If you haven't done so already, please subscribe to this website to receive any updates and stay connected with the latest communication. There is a red folder that will come home every day with your child and should be checked, signed by a parent and then returned each day.

Things your child may bring beginning the first day of school:
*A Sport-top water bottle (with water only please)
*A healthy snack: goldfish, pretzels, cheez-its, fruit, crackers, granola bars
*A change of clothes, labeled, in a ziplock bag (just in case!)

This site will be updated as I receive new information for the school year, so make sure to visit weekly. More information will be provided as soon as possible through daily folders, emails, and/or Wednesday folders. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by email.

My email address is stephaniehoward@tomballisd.net. During the day you can reach me by leaving a voicemail message at 281-357-3122 ext. 2823. I will respond as quickly as possible. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely, Mrs. Stephanie Howard

KWinterLetter16

Dear parents,

I am attaching a letter from our PTO that I am not sure if it went home to you or not.

It's about our Christmas Party. Please let me know if you can come in before the party begins to help set up.

I also want you to know that I am testing the class now and will soon be giving you updates on how your sweet kiddos are doing!

I will say that so far, I am very proud of all the progress I am seeing!!

Thank you

Mrs. Howard

Week 2...Here we go!!!
Monday, August 29th is Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night
Wednesday, August 31st is Parent Orientation from 5:30-6:30pm for Kindergarten.

Hello Parents!
I am SUPER excited to see everyone on Monday!
Some back to school tips:
1. Students are to meet me in the CAFETERIA when they arrive to school.  I will have my CAPTAIN AMERICA sign for them to find me.
2. Students need to wear tennis shoes for PE, so if they are wearing sandals, please make sure they bring tennis shoes and socks to change in to.  Please keep in mind that it does take up time for me to stop and help them tie their laces, so I recommend they change shoes only if they are able to do so independently. Thank you!
3. Please send a healthy snack with a spill proof water bottle/thermos for your child every day. They can have juice at lunch time!
4. I will be with them at lunch for at least the first 2 weeks to make sure they know what to do and that they eat their food =)
It is recommended that parents wait to eat lunch with their child for at least a few weeks to let them adjust to the lunch routine. Thank you for understanding.
5. We have several PEANUT ALLERGIES so please make sure your child understands to not share their food at lunch time or snack time.
THANK YOU!
